Distance #22

from my poetry journal

I’ll pass on the highways
playing our favourite album,
I’ll read all of John Green’s novels twice,
as we planned to read them together,
I’ll make brownies
and add extra oats toppings,
I’ll look at the moon and share my secrets,
she’ll convey it to your end,
stars and moons in the same tapestry
are miles apart, yet they survive and
complete the hours of darkness concomitantly.
Us, in varied time zones,
hold each other in hearts,
hearts are warmer than arms,
I see our future in your eyes,
gripping hope, when I drain,
take my hand and never let go,
every crease, you lie in,
will you hold ?

Thank you so much for reading! ❤️

  1. The cosmos
    and the others

    also those
    that we don’t know
    are in us

    the hug
    of one’s own suffering
    the recognition
    one’s own vulnerability

    the dignity to oneself
    helps to reality
    the world and the
    indivisible dignity of all others
