My Missings

Hello Wonderfolks! πŸ–€

Hope you all are doing good.

What are your quarantine Missings?

Sometimes we are made to miss to make us realise the real value of it.

Read further to know what I am missing the most.

1. Friends

Some people arrive and make such a beautiful impact on your life, can barely remember what life was like without them.

– Anna Taylor

My life once completely revolved around them and they were the integral part of it since we spend 8-9 hours together at school. It is this quarantine that made our hangouts impossible and it’s been almost 3 months since I met them. Though we stay in touch through audio and video calls, at the end of the day, I miss them.

I watched a film, Five Feet Apart in the month of April. The leads in the film Cole Sprouse (Will Newman) and Haley Lu Richardson (Stella Grant) are with cystic fibrosis and they are asked to strictly follow the hospital’s protocol – ‘Stay a certain distance (six feets) away from each other to reduce the risk of cross infection.’

The movie begins with a dialogue that makes us realise the importance of human touch.

I have a weird habit of watching a movie (only impressive ones) several times. Each time I watch, I understand the dialogues better and I analyze the characters intensely.

I related myself with this film since I started to yearn for a warm hug when I am low-spirited. Though I am highly self-motivated, I await for it sometimes. I think this is very common to everyone because when you are sad, you expect one pat on your shoulder to encourage and friends do that. Ring up to your friends who were and are present in all your tough times as it is unlikely to meet them right now.

2) God

I am a Religious person who never misses to visit Temple. This became an important part of my routine, since 2019 was worst to me. I wanted to reroute my mind when I faced massive failure and was on the edge of falling into depression (I later realised that it was supposed to be called so).

Let’s not ponder over the past since it’s all over and I ended up learning thoughtful life lessons.

It is rightly said, “Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations”. In my life, it lead to a thoughtful destination. I grew up wise and spiritual. It healed the mental troubles and ultimately brought peace in life.

It is true that prayers lighten one’s heart and helps in uplifting the confused mind. It was the faith I had in god that provided me ton of positivity.

Prayer is the peace of our spirit, the stillness of our thoughts, the evenness of our recollection, the seat of meditation, the rest of our cares and the calm of our tempest.

– Jeremy Taylor

But yes, you can neither expect to visit temple if you get employed somewhere in Europe nor your friends can promise to accompany you everywhere you go.

Quarantine taught me this:

We must learn to accept the changes that’s happening around us. Understanding and accepting the reality can be the only solution to the prevailing hard times.

  1. God bless you good friend. This is a well articulated article which is relateable to everyone out there. I love it. Ironically I also watched Five Feet Apart in the same month during this lockdown. It opened my eyes too. Touch and contact are important pieces of our existence and survival as humans. We should value all the priviledges we get in real time because they might get snatched before we realise by the happenings of our wonderful home we call Earth. I enjoyed this post and yes the quality is improving from the first ever blogpost stay blogging and stay blessed. From the Zimbabwean Wonderfolk!πŸ™Œβ€πŸ™Œ
